Patrick damaged his suspensory ligament and due to his age the prognosis for recovery was nil. The vet believed it was just a matter of time before he hurt the other leg because he was carrying his weight unevenly. We did not want to see him suffer because he was a good and kind horse as you all know.

Duchess had Navicular disease and it was getting worse. She was starting to have problems in her hind legs as well. It was a very hard decision for Donna to make but it was the kindest thing for Duchess.

Duchess, you were such a pretty girl i regret not getting to know you better while i was at harrogate! you will be greatly missed!

Patrick! You were such a special horse! You tought me so many things when i rode you and you had such an amazing personallity! you were a sweetheart and deffinitly one of my favourites. you were the horse who tought me how to control rythme and you gave me the confidence i needed to do different things! i miss you sooo much and i cant thank you enough for everything you have done for me and tought me i owe most of it to you buddy and its going to hurt coming to visit harrogate and not being able to hug and pat you and not having you itch on my shoulder! i love you and im sorry i wasn't there to say good bye.

yess it really depends on your level and how much in house showing experiance you have and most of all pats say! but u really have to be carful when showing off property because rushing into it can really ruin your confidence

Jake and Grandpa have both been given the okay to start back to work.
It will be slow at first but soon they will be back full time.

I do not belive that we are having an Invitational Show this year. If we were would we not have already recived something in the mail regarding our classes (for those who ride at Harrogate). Also last years Invitational was held on this weekend of last year was it not? I would also like to mention that Pat has been very busy this summer bringing some students to show off properaty i do not belive that she would have had the time to organize a big event such as the Invitational :( . Unfortunatly i do not think we will be holding an Invitational show this summer at Harrogate Hills. If I have been missinformed please let us all know :) !

he has a gorgeoues mane and its heather's choice to pull it or not.

is someone going to pull his mane? it seems a but long

rocky is still fairly unfit so he will not be used in lessons for a while and i believe that heather would like to do some dressage work with him for a while. i heard that it will be at least a year before he is used in the school but i could be mistaked. even though he is not yet a school horse rocky LOVES visitors. human and animal company!! he is really fitting in here at harrogate!!

rocky's show name is Shananigen Rocket (or however it is spelt). he has made one very good friend, Buttercup!! and yes he is owned by the same lady who owned harley, heather woods! he also seems to be very comfertable with his new home!! and yes eventually rocky may be used a little (or more) in the school!!

camp spots....Last i heard there were a few spots in sessoiun 4 but that may have changed by now .. you probly should call pat

He is a chestnut, 10 year old Morgan and he is owned by the lady who owned Harley. Somewhere sown the road, once Rocky is integrated into the school he will be used sometimes for lessons.

yeah everyone please let us no all the juicy details like is he gonna be a school horse? who owns him? what color or breed? everything and anything you can think of about him!

i belive that they are doing something to the sand arena so that it is ready for the show but i could be wrong. lets hope everything works out.

i doubt it, ubt it depends on the weather and whether or not the sand ring is dusty and the feilds are hard ground, but you might have a warmup outside if it all works out well

The hack class has been moved so the cross rails will be the first one being run. I think that the warm-ups begin at 8:00 or 8:15. I'm not sure exactly what time the competition will begin.

The competitors are meeting at HHRS at 7:00 in the morning. Everyone will get ready and be off to Bluestar after that.
It will be great to see everyone come and support the Harrogate riders.

all the riders from harrogate will be riding in cross rail in the annex ring at blue star. there is one class before cross rail called Hack and it begins at 8:00 so when ever that class is done i guess that is when cross rail will begin! for more times and info about the blue star show i would go to www.bluestarfarm.com and click on shows! sorry i cant answer all our questions!!

for those of us interested in watching our friends compete at blue star, wat time must be be there at...or more improtantly wat time do the classes begin at? and where should we go...harrogate or blue star? plz answer asap!! thanx so much!

I hope you realize that you are not just a business, but the enviroment in the barn is great. Your always treated like were one big family, and i hope that it will grow over the years to come. The shows are being held once a month from June to November. The ones in June and July are at Bluestar farm, and the rest are a Pause-a-while.

i think theres one in july, june, august and i know theres one in november but they have all the dates of the away shows

i dont think that they have that down yet but if im just out odf it and everyone already knows then tell please:P:P

scouts bucking really depends on her rider and how the rider asks for canter and the strength of their leg.

R u sure cause someone was riding her when I was there and she would throw in the occasional buck when the girl asked for canter.

yes eddie is privatly owned. well kind of partially owned. but his owners have been kind enought to to let use use him with some of the harrogate riders. u probably know his owners they are lynn and russ. as a matter of face they constructed the outside stalls (the newest two a.k.a radley and murdochs homes) with the help of some other hard workers!

the reason some of the riders or at different levels in lessons is becuz there is not enough room in more advanced lessons for them. if you watch a lesson like the second saturday lesson u will notice that some riders are at different levels and are riding different horses. but it is not a bad thing becuz other riders can learn from you and eventually you will get changed into a more advanced lesson.

i believe lily is doin very well becuz i think she was supposed to be used in a less advanced lesson but the rider did not show up. hopefully that doesnt happen again :P lol!!

You could also ask Melissa as there is a place that she goes sometimes.
Just be careful and before you ride, check and make sure the horses look well cared for. If they can't be bothered to care for their horses, they may not care about your safety either.

murdoch is not the easiest horse to ride and he still has to get back into work. erica rode him on saturday because she has experiance with him. it may not be the best idea to introduce him back into the school with a ridder who has never ridden him before and does not have an instructer that has tought a ridder on him. JUST SO ANYONE WONDERING IS AWARE!

the show clinic is from 12:30-3:30 on sunday march 18th! if you are interested in attending it would probably be best if you give the barn a call and let them know that you will be coming! remember that it is 15 dollars to participat!

IF U MISS A LESSON!
you should give your instructer a call or speek to them in person about a MAKE-UP lesson! that means you will make up the lesson you missed on a night or day that you ARE avalable! (you do not have to pay for make-up lessons)

There are sheets about the show posted in the lounge! i belive some of the divisons have been replaced or changed so it is best that you check thoses sheets (hung up on the window looking into the arena, the fridge and the doors goin into the barn) for accurate information!!

It would be a really good idea to go to the showprep clinic because the teach you how to braid. It is recommened to everyone who is thinking about going into a show or who already shows. Also they will give you tips on what the judge is looking for during the shows. Hope to see alot of ppl there!

for anyone who wants to know, the price is 15 and im not sure what time you have to be there, it probably says on the sheet at the barn

i dont think patrick will be ready for summer camp because he is still very lame!! it would also be better for an older horse lik him to be re introduced to being ridden slowly. i remember last year when Melissa rode him it took about 6 months give of take (but im not sure) and then she rode him again in camp. it is also important that everyone remembers horses dont get better over night.

yess , but steph fell off cash and then she had to be switched.. so if u do good on the horse u ride then you'll stay on that horse.

well i had legacy and on the first day they switched me to cash and i rode him for the first week and then switched to sadie for one day and then jake for the rest-- its a really long story

the camp at harrogate was the best camp i have ever been too! i really hope i can come back this year!
about the horses, sometimes if a person in your group is having alot of trouble with their horse you might be able to switch with that horse depending on who you have. i did that, the girl who had cash had trouble so i took cash and she took legacy-- not that i dont like legacy, hes a good boy!
